INSURANCE
We (LWJFC) strongly recommend that each Family / Individual should consider additional cover with a private insurer.  – Given the limited cover offered.

Dear Club Member,

Football is an exciting game however as it involves physical contact, there is an element of risk involved every time you step out to play.

We want to support our members by providing you with as much information as possible about your level of coverage for when you step out onto the Football Field each weekend. Below is a complete rundown of the coverage you receive through your club membership and options on how you can upgrade your coverage to suit your own personal situation.

Current Standard Coverage: Every player who is a paid up member of our Football/Netball club has an automatic SILVER level of coverage through JLT Sports.

CLICK HERE to download a flyer that provides you with a complete rundown of your SILVER level coverage and what you are entitled to should you injure yourself whilst playing or training with our club.

Processing a Claim: If you injure yourself whilst playing or training with our club, it is up to the individual to process a claim through JLT Sports. We as a club will assist you as much as we can however as the claim process requires a lot of personal information to be provided throughout the claim process, we do ask that individuals take ownership and control over any claims you process.

CLICK HERE to download a copy of the claim form.

Ambulance Coverage: Ambulance coverage is included as part of the SILVER level of coverage through JLT Sports however this only covers you whilst you are participating with our club and there may be some out of pocket expense. Members are encouraged to still take out your own Ambulance coverage so that you are fully covered that includes your time spent away from our club.

Private Health Insurance: It is highly recommended that all club members secure your own personal health insurance to assist with any out of pocket costs that may come with an injury. As a club, we can't afford to cover the medical costs of our players and we recommend that all players secure a Health Insurance Plan that suits your needs and life style so that you do not feel the out of pocket effects that an injury make bring.

FIT Health Insurance is specifically tailored to the injuries sustained in AFL football. To find out more visit: www.fithealthinsurance.com.au

Out of Pocket Costs: As mentioned above, Football/Netball clubs are unfortunately not in a position to cover the out of pocket costs for club members which is why we encourage our members to take out as much personal coverage (either by upgrading your JLT Sports coverage or taking out private health insurance) as you can afford to ensure these costs are kept to a minimum. We will try to provide all members with as much guidance and support that we can however we are not in a position to be able to financially support our members by covering the costs of injuries. Please keep this in mind if you, your son or daughter injure yourselves this season.

For any other information on your coverage through JLT Sports this season, please feel free to go tohttps://afl.jltsport.com.au/community.aspx and hopefully your questions will be answered.

Mouthguards are vital when it comes to protecting teeth during contact sports. Only a slight knock or bump when not wearing a mouthguard may result in serious damage or long-term affects in a developing mouth. Not to mention the dental costs associated with it. Custom-made mouthguards offer many benefits that ‘off-the-shelf’ mouthguards cannot.

Custom made mouthguards are;
·Tight-fitting, providing maximum protection for teeth and gums,
·Comfortable, making them easier to wear,
·Shaped to your mouth making it easier to breathe and talk,
·Choice of colours and design including club colours.

Custom made mouthguards are often FULLY FUNDED or there may be a ‘small gap’ with your private health insurance making them cheaper than your standard ‘Off-the-shelf’ mouthguards.

Some providers also offer juniors up to 3 mouthguards in a year making sure there is always a superior fit in the ever changing jaw and teeth development. Please contact your health fund and quote ‘Item 151’ to find out your provider benefits.
